Youth Ministries at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church will develop a program for youth ranging from 7th through 12th grades, which will nurture faith formation and spiritual development with passion, personal involvement and leadership. Our emerging vision for our youth ministry is to prepare our students and their friends for living a life in faith.
Vision:
- Youth Ministry Coordinator will share our long-term commitment and goals for the development of Zion’s youth
- Passionate advocate, participant and leader for the extended community of our youth and their families.
- Be an active member of ZELC and the community.
- This position will report to the Council Member in charge of the youth development.
Duties:
· Building Relationships
o Nurture relationships with youth members and their families
o Build trust and partnership with total congregation
o Sensitive to different perspectives
o Excellent communication skills both verbal and interpersonal
· Organize Youth Events and Activities
o Create a positive and exciting “Faith Based” learning environment
o Working with the support of the Youth Committee design and implement youth strategy for Zion
o Lead Adult Volunteer network team to maximize the youth experience
o Work with outside agencies to develop community based projects or activities
· Qualifications
o Personally faithful to Jesus, knowledgeable of the Word of God and the Confessions of this church
o Leadership and experience working with youth and family programs
o Ability to nurture our youth in “Faith Based” ministry
o Experience developing and recruiting a team in a volunteer organization
o Ability to communicate, contact, and develop relational interaction with youth and adults
o Create Trust and a willingness to be there for the youth
o Mature in Faith and in Life. Young at heart and fun in spirit. Reliable, punctual and organized.
o Enthusiastic about participating in the faith formation of youth
o Embrace a work ethic that creates a positive impact on the program
o Patient and able to celebrate the uniqueness of each person
