OPPORTUNITIES FOR INVOLVEMENT AT ZION
OPPORTUNITY FOR INVOLVEMENT AT ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH
Get involved as a Sunday school teacher or Activity Leader for children or adults. Most classes are team-taught and training is available.
Small Groups are the best way to get connected to the “body” of Zion and grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ and each other. Learn how to live the Christian life while cultivating relationships that truly make a difference in your everyday life. We do life together. Check out the Small Group Tab for more information.
Become a Greeter/Host or Usher on Sunday mornings. This is a great way to meet people and also to extend a welcoming hand. Depending on your worship time preference, you will greet one time every 6-8 weeks. The usher schedule works on a monthly basis, every 6 months.
Provide food for the coffee hour fellowship time following worship. This is done on a sign up basis and many people choose to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, holiday or just plain happiness by bringing a simple treat to share. There is funding to help defray your personal costs.
Join Altar Guild and help prepare the Sanctuary for worship.
Serve as a council member on the Church Council. Council meets one evening per month for approximately 3 hours. The term is a three-year term. This is a driving force at Zion and a wonderful way to get to know how the church is run and how much it really does.
Become an Assisting Minister. This is assigned on a rotating basis and has training available.
Fill positions that come up during the course of the year. There are always committees that are in need of new people and ideas. The Audit, Scholarship and Nomination Committees are some, just to name a few.
Attend a Women’s Bible Study. There are currently two to choose from and both of them meet at the church. One meets every Tuesday evening at 7:30pm; the other, the third Wednesday of each month in the daytime hours.
Attend Men’s Bible Study weekly on Wednesday mornings at 7:00am.
Yoga is offered at church on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays beginning at 9:00am.
ZPAK is a weekly gathering of parents and young children on Mondays at 9:30am at various locations or at church.
If you want to get together with others while you knit or crotchet, come and join the group the second and fourth Thursday of each month in the church library.
Family Fun Nights are activities that are planned and all are welcome. Watch for these to be posted in the newsletter and weekly bulletin.
Sing in a choir. Adult and children choirs practice on Sunday mornings and really enhance the Sunday worship.
